Karunamayee Story
The name Karunamayee signifies the “Encapsulation of Compassion.” Established in 2010, Karunamayee is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) established by the Karunamai Foundation Trust for Exceptional Persons. The organization is dedicated to the welfare, development, and empowerment of children and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities often experience difficulties in various areas of everyday life, including:
- Daily living skills, such as dressing, using the bathroom, eating independently, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Communication skills, such as understanding what is being said, expressing their needs, and responding appropriately.
- Social skills, including interacting with peers, family members, adults, and others in the community.
At Karunamayee, we believe that every child has unique abilities and potential. With patience, compassion, appropriate guidance, and continuous support, we strive to help each child develop essential life skills, gain greater independence, and participate meaningfully in society.
