Play and Recreation
Recreation is important for an array of reasons. It eases the mind, body and immediate surroundings. Even the activities that we perform in leisure add up to our knowledge. They end up imparting some life-skill or the other, and thus turn out to be significant. Activities like art and craft, group and idol play, music and dance lessons are imparted in the routine. Other activities which require expert guidance, like outdoor games and gardening are cautiously taught by experienced staff. These activities facilitate relevant social behavior and give an expression to emotions. thus we have devoted the day of friday to only for play &recreational
Special education
At Karunamayee it is our prime concern to give a warm, nurturing environment to our students, which gives them plenty of scope to grow in terms of academics, communications, social skills, basic application sciences and self-care skills. Our teaching programmes have been developed after careful consideration of their special needs, and each one leaves a positive impact on the children. our school strives to bring every child into the mainstream.Each child at karunamayee benefits from customized Individual Education Programme (IEP) that is focused to develop academic skills, communication skills, social skills, motor skills, applied and functional academics, self-care, life skills, recreational skills and prevocational skills through research-based methodologies.
Speech Therapy
In karunamayee we providing free and friendly speech aid for children with Autisum,ID,CP,MD. There may be many kinds of speech defects, and each one may be owing to a different reason. Delayed speech and language development are commonly spotted problems. Besides, there can be speech defects owing to an injury, or some medical condition like cerebral palsy or cleft palate. Since speech and language is the most instrumental power that keeps us connected to the world, it is all the more important to curb any disorders, to the best possible extent. We are equipped with latest technology and software which helps in therapy sessions enabling them to practice in a playful environment where children can enjoy their learning sessions. Our trained & skilled team help children in best possible way to improve speaking abilities and most recommended group activities. The therapies involve use of latest software that helps the child develop normal speech habits and a positive attitude towards vocal communication. The experienced therapists work at removing a child’s fear of stammering and maintaining fluency in speech.
Vocational Program
The Our vocational training programme, Swayam, engages them in various activities for creating handcrafted and eco friendly products. They are learning to do Data entry, making paper bags, cloth bag, candle and other handmade office items. In exchange, money is not all they get. This training gives them a sense of self-worth and economic independence. Besides, they learn the skill of developing interpersonal relationships. The children who do not show much progress on the academic front are encouraged to pursue the vocational training programmes. Swayam products, made by special children, are purchased by various corporate houses and organizations. Not only this, the students also get a stipend for their contribution, as an encouragement for their hard work and special skills.
